Advanced Search Engine Optimization Techniques
According to HubSpot, 80% of a website’s traffic always starts with a simple search query. That’s why a proper understanding of search engine optimization is vital to your online success.
Today I am going to be revealing some of the most common advanced SEO techniques. To clear the air, I obtained all of this information from Magnum Firm’s Norcross search engine optmization team.
The website audit is the first step that you need to perform, or have your local SEO professional perform for you. It will break down all of the ups and downs of your website.
There are many things that you need to consider when auditing your website to ensure you are getting optimal results in the SERP’s (a.k.a search engine results pages). I will not go over everything you need to look at in this article, but below are some of the common and most important:
- Mobile Friendly
- Mobile Usability
- Site Speed
- SILO – Structure of URL’s on your website
- On-Page optimization such as meta values, schema, keyword usage and latin semantic, optimized alt text etc. in images
bRANDING THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA
This is actually quite missed among many businesses. Everyone understands that they need a Facebook account for their business these days. However, what a large majority of business owners have yet to realize is the power of social accounts and ranking a website.
I am not going to go into too much detail, but I will tell you that you need to build every social media account you can think of for your business and link them to your website.
When you build these accounts, you need to use the same EXACT business name on every single account. Also, include a link back to your website on every account. This will gain trust in the eyes of search engines and make you look like a real business and help you rank better. Low competition businesses can rank off of this alone.
Broken Wikipedia link building
This is very powerful. I am sure that you know how powerful a link from WIKIPEDIA would be, right? Wikipedia has a page for just about everything under the sun. Why not use it to our best interest when it comes to local seo?
Don’t worry, it is not hard at all. I will tell you the basic way to find a broken link on wikipedia.
Go to Google. Search for site:wikipedia.org + keyword + “dead link”.
Click on any of the listed wikipedia pages.
Press CTRL + F
Type in dead link.
Edit the link.
Hope it sticks!
Simple, right?! Well, to your surprise, not everything in search engine optimization is difficult. You just have to have the knowledge.
That is all that the SEO experts in Macon and Norcross from Magnum Firm would reveal to me for one post. They did promise to come back with more on how to properly use social media for local seo at a later date.
